Ballyhaunis Firefighters Teach 3rd & 4th Class About Fire Safety

Firefighters Hannah and Mark from Ballyhaunis Fire Station visited our school to speak with pupils in 3rd and 4th Class about fire safety and what to do if a fire breaks out at home.

They strongly emphasised the importance of the following safety measures:

• Taking care when cooking.

• Never leaving candles unattended.

• Always unplugging chargers at night and never charging devices on a bed or under a pillow.

• Keeping a safe distance from open flames such as fires and bonfires.

• Always wearing a seatbelt when travelling in a vehicle.

The pupils found the talk very informative and engaging and each received a fire safety pack.
