The Credit Union Schools Quiz will take place on Saturday, 7th February in St. Mary’s Hall at the ATU Mayo Campus, Castlebar. The Under 11s quiz begins at 11am, followed by the Under 13s quiz at 2pm.
Wishing the very best of luck to our Under 11s team members Liam, Jack, Senan and Kai, and to our Under 13s team members Hubert, Orlaith, Erikas and Eli.
Chess has recently been introduced to the pupils in 5th and 6th Class, and we were delighted to purchase 12 chess sets to support their learning. The children are thoroughly enjoying learning to play and developing their skills.
Mr. Connaughton, who visits our school each week, is running a chess club on Thursday afternoons for pupils who wish to learn and practise further. We are very much looking forward to introducing chess to 3rd and 4th Class in the near future.
The Féile Ficheall Tournament will be held in Aghamore Community Centre on Friday, 13th February at 9.30am, and the boys and girls are very excited to take part and compete.
The Annual Cumann na mBunscol Sports Quiz took place in Ballindine N.S. on Thursday, 22nd January at 7pm. Well done to Daniel, Kealan, Ben and Tom who represented our school so well — a great effort by the whole team!
