The Vincent Judge Memorial Tournament took place on Friday, 15th May in Tooreen. On the day, the local primary school teams came together to celebrate hurling in a spirit of friendship, sportsmanship and competition. The Vincent Judge Memorial Cup, Shield and Plate were presented to the winning teams following a day of exciting matches.
This annual tournament has been held since 2017 in memory of Vincent Judge, who sadly passed away in 2015 after a short illness. Vincent was a passionate supporter of hurling and camogie in the local area, and the tournament continues to honour his dedication to promoting Gaelic games among young people.
All the pupils in Aghamore N.S. thoroughly enjoyed a series of drumming workshops with Ben from Drumadore. Throughout the programme, each class worked hard to learn and develop a drumming piece, which they proudly performed for the other classes. The performances showcases the children's creativity, teamwork and musical talents, and were enjoyed by everyone in the school.
There was great excitement at school just before home time when a magnificent steam engine arrived in the front yard. The visit was kindly organised by John Corley, Luke’s dad, and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to gather for a lovely photograph in front of the engine. The steam engine was on its way to the highly anticipated Aghamore Vintage Day, which took place on Sunday, 26th April.
