There were plenty of laughs today when two people arrived in the classrooms of 3rd to 6th Class, claiming to be janitors who needed to clean the rooms. After a few minutes, it became clear that they weren’t janitors at all, but actors from the Branar Theatre Company, who bring drama to life in schools with lots of humour and fun. One of the actors told the story of Captain George McNamara, a bandit from the Cong, who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. The performance was highly entertaining, with the actor using a variety of props from his cleaning cart. Overall, it was great fun and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the family of the late David Lenehan, Tooreen. Through their annual fundraiser, the Lenehan family very generously shared the proceeds between Aghamore N.S. and Tooreen N.S., with each school receiving €5,520.
This is an extremely generous donation, and we are deeply grateful for their kindness and support. We will ensure that these funds are used to enhance the enjoyment and benefit of all pupils in our school.

Firefighters Hannah and Mark from Ballyhaunis Fire Station visited our school to speak with pupils in 3rd and 4th Class about fire safety and what to do if a fire breaks out at home.
They strongly emphasised the importance of the following safety measures:
Taking care when cooking.
Never leaving candles unattended.
Always unplugging chargers at night and never charging devices on a bed or under a pillow.
Keeping a safe distance from open flames such as fires and bonfires.
Always wearing a seatbelt when travelling in a vehicle.
The pupils found the talk very informative and engaging and each received a fire safety pack.
